Student Internship Position for Summer 2024 

The Coalition for Public Safety Training in Schools, Inc.(CPSTS) in partnership with Century Engineering, Inc. is offering a Student Intership Position for Summer 2024.

Required Qualifications:

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Be a student or 2024 Prince George's county High School Graduate
  • Have a high school diploma or be a High School Senior
  • In the 2024-2025 school year
  • Have completed or be enrolled in a Science and Technology or Project Lead the Way engineering program
  • Have a minimum of a 2.0 grade point average
  • have access to reliable transportation
  • Be able to lift up to 25 lbs

This is a full-time, paid position for a term not to exceed three (3) months.

CPSTS, Inc. is sponsoring a summer internship for a Prince George's County Public Schools students interested in an engineering career. This internship is a full-time, PAID position. Designed to engage the student through real life experiences this internship will deepen their understanding of the career path of an engineer.

Prince George's County Prince George's County Public Schools and The Robert H. Smith School of Business Launch Innovative Business Institute Program


Upper Marlboro, MD (April 19, 2024)
– Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) and the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland (UMD) are proud to announce the launch of the Business Institute Program, a transformative three-year initiative designed to ignite a passion for business education in high school students. 

Geared towards 10th-12th graders from Crossland and Potomac High Schools, this electrifying program will provide participants with rigorous sessions on leadership, corporate management, and entrepreneurial skills. Over three years, students will delve into topics like:
- Leadership Development: Enhance communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
- Corporate Management: Understand the intricacies of running and managing a business.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: Learn how to craft business proposals and pitch innovative ideas to a panel of experts.

Hosted by the Robert H. Smith School of Business, a top-ranked business school, the program will offer:
- In-depth workshops led by renowned faculty.
- Networking opportunities with industry professionals.
- The chance to win awards by pitching business ideas to a judging panel.

The inaugural cohort of the Business Institute Program will begin in Fall 2024 and run through Spring 2027. Sessions will be held three Fridays a month from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all registered participants.

Prince George's County Police Cadet Program
Earn an income and college credits towards an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice!

If you have the following qualifications, considering applying and taking your career to the next step:

  • a high school grade point average of 2.5 or greater
  • between the ages of 17 ½ and 19 ½
  • a valid driver's license
  • six (6) months driving experience
