    Family Engagement Specialist Jennifer Love Recognized by Organization of Latinos of Exelon


    UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) Family Engagement Instructional Specialist Jennifer Love has received the Organization of Latinos at Exelon’s (OLE) Community Service Award for her dedication to the Central Maryland Hispanic community.

    “Being recognized for my work with the Latino community is a great accomplishment and a reminder of how important it is to serve my community,” said Love, who works in the Office of Interpreting and Translation.

    Love held various school-based and central office leadership roles before joining the Office of Interpreting and Translation in 2012, where her 110-member team who facilitates language access resources across the district.

    She previously served on the Core Team with the Maryland State Department of Education to create the MSDE K-12 Family Engagement Framework. Recently, the KinderConnect early education program that she developed for English Learner Kindergarten students and their families, was recognized by the White House Initiative for Educational Excellence for Hispanics as a national Bright Spot in Hispanic Education. Love currently serves as president of the Maryland English Language Learners Family Involvement Network and on the Board of the Mid-Atlantic Equity Consortium.

    Love will receive her award during OLE Baltimore’s Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Friday, October 7.
