PGCPS is moving forward with a new state funding model designed to better support student success across all schools.
Beginning in the 2025–26 school year, all Maryland school districts must fully implement the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, a new state funding model that aims to invest more in students who need extra support, expand early learning opportunities and improve long-term academic outcomes.
The model ties dollars to student needs and enrollment demographics, a shift from the previous funding structure. That means more funding is directed to schools with higher numbers of students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, English language learners, students receiving special education services, and those enrolled in Pre-K programs.
As new funding requirements take shape, district leaders remain focused on ensuring every school and every student is equipped to thrive.
“While the landscape is changing, our mission stays the same — to provide every student with the tools and opportunities to thrive,” said Superintendent Millard House II. “We’re focused on long-term investments, equitable access and strong outcomes for all students.”
As the 2025–26 implementation approaches, PGCPS is committed to keeping families informed and engaged.
