The Board authorizes the Superintendent to utilize a self-insured fund, or to participate in a selfinsured group fund in conjunction with, or in lieu of, commercial insurance, which protects the board from losses, which would affect personnel, property, the budget, or the ability of the school system in fulfilling its responsibility to children, taxpayers, and the public.
