• Register Now: Substitute Teacher Academy

    UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) Office of Talent Development will host a Substitute Teacher Academy to continue the instructional growth of substitute teachers and focus on effective teaching strategies that promote student engagement. The Academy will focus on literacy and common core, and provide participants with instructional techniques and classroom management strategies. 

    The Substitute Teacher Academy is a four-day session and will run from January 23 to January 26, 2017. Sessions will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Benjamin Tasker Middle School, located at 
    4901 Collington Road, Bowie, MD 20715, and James Madison Middle School, located at 7300 Woodyard Road, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772. 

    The Substitute Teacher Academy is open to active substitute teachers within PGCPS only. 
    Completion of the academy is a prerequisite for participation in future trainings for substitute teachers. New registrants should click here.  For more information, please email subacademy@pgcps.org.
