• Spring Break Homework Packets Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Winter Break Homework Packets mandatory?

No. The winter packets are optional, but we ask that you encourage your child(ren) to complete them while on Winter Break. Teachers have the option for the type of credit the packets may be assigned.

How do you access the packets?

The packets can be accessed by going to the PGCPS home page, www.pgcps1.org.  Scroll down and click on the button for the packets.  It will take you directly to the site.

When will the answer keys be available?

Answer keys will be posted online after January 2, 2017.

Are packets for all PGCPS schools, including students in charter schools?

Yes.  The packets are systemic for all students, and they are optional. Select only the packet(s) for your child’s grade level.  In addition, individual teachers may assign specific homework to students to complete over the break. These assignments would not be posted.

Is there a packet available for Pre-Kindergarten and Head Start students?

No. Packets are available only for Kindergarten through Grade 12.

What should I do if my child needs help with completing the packet?

It is recommended that your child flag the area(s) he/she cannot answer and discuss with his/her teacher after the break.

Who should I contact if I have questions on the packet?

You can contact your child’s teacher after the Winter Break if you have questions relating to the packet.

Who should receive my child’s completed packet?

The completed packet is to be returned to the teacher on the first school day after the Winter Break.

Will credit be given if the packet is complete?

Packets are optional, but teachers may assign the packets for extra credit.

What should I do if I am not able to download the packet?

Try downloading from a different computer or you may email winterbreak.homework@pgcps.org prior to December 22, 2016.  All staff will be off between December 23 and January 2, 2017, and will not be monitoring the Winter Break email.  We will review any emails left during that time beginning January 3, 2017.
