Dear César Chávez Dual Spanish Immersion School Community,
I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Acting Principal of the great César Chávez Dual Spanish Immersion School. My dedication to growing scholars who will be productive members of society with a lifelong love of learning is the foundation of all my work. I am committed to serving our young scholars by nurturing their social and emotional well-being every day while providing them with rigorous and equitable instructional programs.
I am from Puerto Rico, where I received my bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Puerto Rico. I taught English as a Second Language (ESOL) and History at the Middle and High School levels in Puerto Rico. I moved to Maryland in 2012, where I started teaching Spanish from Pre-K to 8th grade in private schools in Washington DC and Laham before joining Prince George's County Public School in 2013 as a Dual-Language Teacher at Capitol Heights Elementary School. For five years, I taught Kindergarten Science and 1st-grade Math and Science. From 2018 to 2021, I had the pleasure to serve as the Spanish Dual-language Program Coordinator before becoming the Academic Dean in 2021. In these roles, I was able to help the school become a 5-star school and earn a Green School status. I received my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of
Education in 2021.
To begin what will be a phenomenal school year, I would like to have the opportunity to meet with you all and will send more information for us to connect before the beginning of the school year.
As your new building leader, know that I have an open-door policy, and I look forward to our conversations and partnerships. I truly believe that all children have special gifts, that all children can succeed, and that we need to work together with our children as the primary focus of our work. I look forward to a fruitful and successful year!

Estimada Comunidad de la Escuela de Inmersión en Español César Chávez,
Estoy encantada de presentarme como la nueva directora interina de la Escuela de Inmersión en Español César Chávez. El objetivo principal de mi trabajo, es trabajar en quipo para formar jóvenes que serán miembros productivos de nuestra sociedad. Mi compromiso es servir a nuestros jóvenes fomentando su bienestar social y emocional todos los días a través de una educación rigurosa y programas educativos equitativos.
Soy de Puerto Rico, y es ahí donde completé mi bachillerato en antropología en la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Enseñé inglés como segundo idioma (ESOL) e historia en la escuela secundaria y preparatoria. Me mudé a Maryland en 2012, donde comencé como maestra de español desde Pre-K hasta 8vo grado en Washington DC y Laham. En el 2013, comencé a trabajar en el Condado de Prince George's como maestra en la escuela primaria de Capitol Heights. Durante cinco años, enseñé ciencias y matemáticas en Español a los estudiantes de kinder y primer grado. De 2018 a 2021, tuve el placer de servir como Coordinadora del Programa de Idioma Dual en Español antes de convertirme en la Decana Académica en 2021. En estos roles, colaboré para que la escuela se convirtiera en una escuela de 5 estrellas y obtener el certificado de Escuela Verde. También recibí mi Maestría en Liderazgo Educativo del American College of Education en el 2021.
Antes de comenzar lo que será un año escolar fenomenal, me gustaría tener la oportunidad de conocerles. Próximamente enviaré información sobre como nos podemos conectar antes del comienzo de clases.
Como la nueva líder de la escuela, quiero que sepan que tengo una política de puertas abiertas y espero poderme reunir con ustedes y escuchar sus ideas. Realmente creo que todos los niños tienen dones especiales, que todos los niños pueden ser exitosos, y que necesitamos trabajar juntos teniendo como enfoque principal el éxito de nuestros estudiantes. ¡Sé que tendremos un año fructífero y exitoso!
