Inaugural PRIDE in PGCPS Virtual Summit

Save the date for our inaugural PRIDE in PGCPS virtual summit May 4! Students, staff and families are invited to learn about resources for LGBTQIA+ youth, explore strategies for advocacy & empowerment, and engage in discussions on inclusivity & allyship. This event is open to PGCPS students, staff, parents/ guardians and community partners.

10:00 a.m. - Noon

Awareness: Discover resources for LGBTQIA+ youth.
Advocacy & Empowerment: Learn strategies to support and empower LGBTQIA+ youth and their families.
Inclusivity & Allyship: Engage in meaningful discussions on the LGBTQIA+ experience.

  • What is a GSA (Gender Sexuality Alliance) and how do I start one at my school?
  • LGBTQIA+ student rights
  • Prince George’s County services and resources for LGBTQIA+ youth

Sessions for Families

  • How to support and advocate for your LGBTQIA+ child
  • PGCPS resources for LGBTQIA+ students
  • Learn about the “Welcoming Schools” program
  • 'Stepping into Truth Together:' hear from students and parents/guardians about their experiences with coming out.
