Procedures for Delayed Openings and Early Closings for Vendor Managed Child Care Programs (VMCCP) and Centers

Vendor Managed Child Care Programs (VMCCP) Guidelines

The vendors' responsibility is to provide the Vendor Managed Child Care Programs, The Procedures for the Delayed Openings and Early Closings for the VMCCP, to all parents. Newly enrolled parents shall be given the information during the initial registration process.

  1. One Hour Delayed Opening

    1. When there is a one-hour delay opening of schools, vendor managed child care programs (VMCCP) will open at 8:00 a.m. If a two-hour delay, VMCCP will open at 9:00 a.m.\

  2. One Hour Early Closing

    1. When there is a one-hour early closing of schools, VMCCP will close at 5:00 p.m. If a two-hour early closing, VMCCP will close at 4:00 p.m.

  3. Early Closing

    1. If a decision is made to cancel all after school and evening activities or classes, VMCCP will close at 4:00 p.m.

  4. Emergency Closing

    1. If a specific school is closed, VMCCP at this school site will be closed. Parents will be notified.

  5. Emergency Relocation/Return to School

    1. If a specific school is re-located during regular school hours, students are returned to that school for dismissal, and VMCCP will close at 3:00 p.m. Parents will be notified.

  6. Half-Day Unscheduled

    1. If a school has an unscheduled half-day early closing, the VMCCP will close at 3:00 p.m. Parents will be notified.

  7. Half Day Scheduled

    1. If a school has a scheduled half-day early closing, VMCCP will operate on its regularly scheduled closing time at 6:00 p.m.

Early Childhood Centers/Prekindergarten Guidelines

Full-Day Prekindergarten and Full-Day Preschool Special Education Program

Full-day prekindergarten and full-day preschool special education students will adhere to the normal school system policies for openings, closings, and early dismissals.

Half-Day Preschool Special Education

Half-day preschool special education and toddler students:

  • When there is a scheduled half day, no half-day preschool special education and toddler students will attend a.m. or p.m. sessions.
  • When there is a two-hour delay in the morning, no half-day preschool special education and toddler students will attend a.m. or p.m. sessions.
  • If schools are closed early due to inclement weather, the p.m. half-day preschool special education and toddler students do not attend. The a.m. half-day preschool special education and toddler students stay later (until approximately 1:30 pm) and ride the emergency p.m. buses home. Lunch will be provided.
  • When there is a scheduled early dismissal, no half-day preschool special education and toddler students will attend.
