Cesar Chavez Dual Spanish Immersion School is one of only eight schools in the United States and Canada to be newly recognized as an International Spanish Academy! This designation places the school among the best Spanish immersion programs in North America and reflects the dedication of its faculty, students, and community.
Immersion Program Supervisor Jane Tarwaki shared that the new recognition will open up exciting opportunities for teacher exchanges, networking, and professional development both locally and in Spain.
"I believe this will make our students even more proud of being bilingual and biliterate, while also sparking their curiosity about Spain and inspiring future college and career opportunities there," Tarwacki said.
Through its dual immersion program, Cesar Chavez helps students develop fluency in Spanish while gaining a deeper appreciation for Hispanic culture. This new designation is a testament to the school’s continued success in helping students achieve fluency in two languages, fostering cultural awareness, and promoting academic excellence.
