Comment on Proposed Policies

Board Policy 9340, establishes that as policies are developed or revised, the public is permitted to provide their input.

On January 16, 2025, the Board voted to approve the following policies for public comment before adoption:

  1. New Policy ####: Developing Curriculum Documents for Instructional Programs in Elementary and Secondary Schools 
  2. New Policy ####: Possession and Use of Alcohol and Drugs on School Grounds
  3. Revised Policy 1113: Informational Material and Announcements
  4. Revised Policy 3323: Purchasing
  5. Revised Policy 5168: Automated External Defibrillators
  6. Revised Policy 8265: Evaluating the Superintendent of Schools
  7. Rescinded Policy 5204 - Bus Transportation for Cheerleaders, Majorettes, Etc
  8. Rescinded Policy 5205 - Proms
  9. Rescinded Policy 9110: Number of Members and Terms of Office
  10. Rescinded Policy 9310: Adoption of Policies
  11. Rescinded Policy 9330: Adoption and Amendments of Administrative Regulations

In addition to the online comment forms, comments on the proposed policy can be submitted by email to testimony@pgcps.org

Comments are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025.

PLEASE NOTE: Persons submitting public comments are advised that public comments become part of the public record and will be publicized along with the Policy and Governance Committee's recommendation to the Board for final action. Comments should not include identifying or legally protected information about individuals, staff members, or students. Comments containing this type of information will not be posted.
