UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Nearly 129,000 students will enter Prince George's County public schools on Tuesday, August 23, the first day of the 2016-2017 school year.
Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kevin Maxwell and special guests will tour select schools, starting the day at Mullikin Bus Lot to greet drivers. Dr. Maxwell will ride a school bus to Pointer Ridge Elementary in Bowie and go from there to Bowie High School. He will then visit Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School and eat lunch with Suitland High School students, ending the day at nearby Andrew Jackson Academy.

Prince George's County Board of Education members will also visit sites to welcome students, families, and staff back to school. Board Vice Chair Carolyn Boston will visit the following schools:
