UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Eleven Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) high schools earned U.S. News rankings in the top 40% nationally according to a new U.S. News and World Report “Best High Schools” list.
Public high schools that scored in the U.S. News rankings top 40% nationally gained eligibility to display a U.S. News award “badge.”

Additionally, five high schools rank in the top 50 of Maryland’s 255 public high schools including: College Park Academy, Eleanor Roosevelt High School, The Academy of Health Sciences at Prince George’s Community College, Oxon Hill High School and Chesapeake Math and IT Public Charter.
U.S. News ranked 17,655 high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The methodology focuses on six indicators of school quality: college readiness; breadth of curriculum; scores on state proficiency tests; performance in reading, math, and science; underserved student performance; and graduation rates.
