UPPER MARLBORO, MD —Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) announces the return of the Superintendent Employee Scholarship program after a four-year hiatus. This valuable initiative demonstrates PGCPS's commitment to supporting the professional growth of its employees by offering both full and partial tuition scholarships for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs, in partnership with participating colleges and universities.
“The Superintendent Employee Scholarship Program is an investment in our greatest asset — our dedicated employees — and I was committed to bringing it back,” said Superintendent Millard House II. “We recognize the sacrifices our educators make every day. The long hours, personal investments in their classrooms, and commitment to professional growth is not unnoticed. We welcome every opportunity to support our educators and staff, helping to lighten their load so they can continue to excel and advance in their careers.”
Since inception, the Superintendent Employee Scholarship program has awarded nearly $900,000 in scholarships, including $310,000 in 2019, $150,320 in 2020, $324,145 in 2021, and more than $100,000 in 2025.
This year, PGCPS has partnered with Walden University to provide exceptional opportunities for staff including:
