Elementary Schedule

Elementary classes meet for 30 minutes, twice a week. Class times are rotated so that students are not pulled from the same homeroom class subjects each time to attend Instrumental Music.

Supply List

Please make sure all supplies are purchased before the first day of lessons:

To be announced

Failure to have an instrument and all supplies may result in removal from Instrumental Music. Supplies can be found at music stores. (click on "Music Stores" page within this site). If you have difficulty finding or obtaining any supplies, contact your Instrumental Music teacher.

All students will need:

  1. An Instrument
  2. General Supplies
  3. Specific Instrument Supplies

Rent an instrument from a music store:

  • Recommended Brass instrument brands (Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Baritone):
    • Bach, Conn, Getzen, Holton, Jupiter, King, Yamaha
  • Recommended Woodwing instrument brands (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone):
    • Armstrong, Buffet, Fox, Gemeinhardt, Jupiter, LeBlanc, Selmer, Vito, Yamaha, Yanagisawa
  • Recommended Percussion instrument brands:
    • Ludwig, Pearl, Yamaha
  • Recommended String instrument brands (Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass):
    • Otto Benjamin, Hermann Beyer, Doetsch, Dunov, Eastman, Franz Helmer, Knilling, Lewis, Samuel Shen, Scherl & Roth, Strobel, Suzuki, Yamaha

*It is recommended that you rent an instrument rather than purchase one for a few reasons:

  1. Some instruments come in child and adult sizes, and your child may outgrow that instrument within the year
  2. Some instruments that seem like a great bargain, such as those on the Internet, require additional parts that are either rare or expensive.
    • Some also do not come pre-assembled and you will pay a music store labor fees to assemble it for you.

Please contact your child's music teacher before purchasing! Your teacher can help you find an instrument.

Another option is to consider purchasing a good Used instrument. Many music stores have used instruments for sale, but they are not on display - you have to ask.

General Supplies

All students will need:

  • A 2 pocket folder (first one provided by the music teacher)
  • A pencil
  • A folding music stand for home practice
