General Requirements for Parent and Family Engagement Plan
Bladensburg High School understands the importance of parent and family engagement at our school. Parent and family partnerships afford an opportunity for strengthening the academic program as well as including parents/guardians as equal partners in educating our children. As a Title I school, we are committed to providing programs, activities, and procedures that will enhance opportunities for engaging parents and families in the learning process that are consistent with Title I, Part A of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). In addition, the school accepts and aligns this plan with the PGCPS Parent and Family Engagement Board Policy. Annually, the Parent & Family Engagement Plan is developed or revised and shared with parents/guardians for input. This document serves as a means to solidify our partnership with the school community and serve as a calendar for upcoming parents and families events. Parents are welcome to provide input/suggestions related to the continuous school improvement process by submitting information to a school administrator verbally, via email communications, and/or through surveys and evaluations. All events and resources will be accessible in a language and format understandable for all parents/guardians. Interpreter services are available for all events in multiple languages and provided based upon prior written request or notification.
Administrators and school staff have analyzed student performance data in order to identify our school’s academic goals for school improvement. Here are our 2024-2025 school year academic goals.
