Roxana Diaz Velasquez, Bladensburg High School Valedictorian
Roxana Diaz Velasquez has logged more than 183 service learning hours. She will attend the University of Maryland College Park on a Presidential Scholarship and aims to become a Neonatal Nurse.
Charles H. Flowers High School seniors Nailah Gibson, Darren Lim and Davion Ward are all students in the 3D Scholars Program, a partnership between PGCPS, Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) and University of Maryland Global Campus. Gibson and Ward have completed the program and will graduate with bachelor degrees under their belt.

DaMarr Savoy, a senior in the IT Academy at Gwynn Park High School who is also dual enrolled at Prince George’s Community College and University of Maryland College Park!
Hailing from what he calls an "academically competitive" family, DaMarr is well on his way to the top of the leaderboard! With a 4.25 GPA, he is working toward graduating at the top of his class with future goals to own a tech business.
Krystal Amihere, future anesthesiologist and pillar in her community! The future is bright for senior Krystal Amihere, who attends the Academy of Health Sciences at Prince George’s Community College. Growing up with positive role models like her mom and grandmother, this future anesthesiologist knows first hand the benefits of working hard and the importance of helping those in need.
Krystal holds a 4.2 GPA and will graduate with an Associate’s Degree in general studies eager to study biology at a four-year university.
Oluwakemi Abiodun is a senior at Charles H. Flowers High School and enrolled in the Science and Technology program
Oluwakemi, who holds a 4.48 GPA, plans to attend the University of Maryland College Park and major in biology. She loves to serve others and hopes to attend Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to pursue a career as a pediatric surgeon
Jordan Dunston, who holds a 4.24 GPA, is a member of the National, Math and Social Studies Honor Societies, and a Peer Forward Leader, connecting students to college. He has been recognized as the Biology Student of the Year (2019) and a College Board National African-American Recognition Program Scholar (2021).
Jordan believes that maintaining character and striving for excellence are essential and says his faith has helped to shape him into the person he is today. He plans to major in biomedical engineering with hopes to own his own engineering company.
Seniors Kimber Gonzalez Lopez (Academy of Health Sciences), Babatunde Sanni (Charles H. Flowers High School), Alyssa Hutchinson (College Park Academy), Lester Paz (DuVal High School), Jeraldin Espana (Laurel High School), George Jamaldinian and Maha Idsassi (Eleanor Roosevelt High School) are recipients of C.D. Mote Jr. Incentive Awards. These students will receive full four-year scholarships to the University of Maryland, College Park.
