Staff Member Password Reset

Teacher/staff member not on PGCPS network (not at school, office or on VPN)

ORACLE ISSUE: My account is working for other websites/applications but not for Oracle.

Oracle will lock you out of your account if you attempt to sign in 3 times in a row incorrectly. The number of attempts resets once you have signed in successfully. 

It is important to take your time and enter your username and password carefully. Be careful using saved passwords. 

If your account is working on all other platforms but not Oracle you will need to reset your password. It is still recommended to wait 20-30 minutes prior to attempting to sign into Oracle with your new password. Password reset directions

ALL APPLICATIONS ISSUE: My account is not working for anything

You can go to any PGCPS school or office building to join a PGCPS network and follow these directions for a password reset (You will need to enroll in me.pgcps.org first.) or contact the Helpdesk for a password reset at help.pgcps.org or 301-386-1549. Even if the Helpdesk resets your password your computer device password will not change until your device has synchronized on the PGCPS network. 

Teacher/staff member on the PGCPS network (at school, office or on VPN)

You can go to me.pgcps.org to reset your password or if you are using a Windows machine you can press ctrl + alt + delete and select Change a password. If you are unable to reset your password using these methods, you should contact your school or office based IT Technician for a password reset. You can also contact the Helpdesk for a password reset at help.pgcps.org or 301-386-1549.

It is a good idea to sign out and back in with your new password after you have changed it so the password is updated on your device. If you receive a password error, try pressing ctrl + alt + delete again and select Switch user. Enter your username and new password. 

It is a good idea to wait 20-30 minutes after a password reset before trying to sign into Oracle so your account has time to synchronize across platforms.

If the Helpdesk resets your password when you are away from the PGCPS network you will need to restart your device on the PGCPS network for it to synchronize with your new password. Otherwise your computer will use the old password and your work programs/applications will use the new one.

You will need an iRecruitment account to apply for staff positions in PGCPS.
