Pre-K Accreditation

Carole Highlands ES is participating in a voluntary accreditation process with the Maryland State Department of Education. The purpose is to improve the quality of instruction in our Early Childhood/Pre-Kindergarten classroom. This informative process will allow us to examine our practices, policies and procedures to ensure quality instruction for all students. The key areas include Program Administration, Program Operation and Home/Community Partnerships. This section will make sure all stakeholders are informed of the process, next steps and recommendations. If you have any questions or would like more information, feel free to reach out to us!

PGCPS has been using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) as an observational instrument to assess classroom quality in our pre-kindergarten classrooms. Effective teacher-student interactions are a primary component of high-quality early educational experiences.
