Dr. Henry A. Wise High School is excited to offer the Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) program to provide continued support to active-duty military students and their families. The MFLC program helps military families and children navigate challenges by providing free, confidential, non-medical counseling services to children and youth through formal groups, lunch bunch sessions, and individual support.
Military and Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) assist students in improving behaviors, school performance, and relationships. They provide support on topics such as feelings identification, bullying, self-esteem, problem-solving, deployment, and reunification. Additionally, MFLCs offer consultation and support to parents, teachers, and administrators, conduct classroom observations, and participate in school-wide events.
