Mandatory Uniform Policy

Tops

  • 6th grade – Black
  • 7th grade – Burgundy
  • 8th grade – Navy Blue

Long or short sleeved collared, polo-style shirt with two or three buttons at the neck

Other tops

  • All SOLID sweaters, cardigans, sweatshirts, and fleece are acceptable but must be worn over the uniform shirt but must match the color specific grade level top.
  • Non-compliant sweaters, sweatshirts, or jackets will be confiscated and held by an administrator and may require parent retrieval.
  • Jackets and coats (outerwear) may not be worn in class and must be kept in lockers during the school day
  • Sweaters, cardigans, and fleece should not be worn around the waist when not in use on the shoulder

Pants

  • Must be Tan/Khaki or Navy Blue in color only
  • Shorts should be fingertip length or more
  • Shorts and pants must have a finished bottom (no cut-offs)
  • Pants and shorts may not be ripped or torn at the knees or elsewhere
  • No sweatpants, jeans, leggings or jeggings
  • May not fall below the waist or sag
  • Pants may not be rolled up, tucked into shoes or boots, or rubber banded at the bottom
  • Pants may not be cut or split at the hem or bottom

Skirts/Jumpers

  • Must be Tan/Khaki or Navy Blue in color
  • Must be fingertip length or more
  • Skirts and jumpers should have a finished bottom

Belts

Belts that go through the loops around the waist are encouraged whenever possible

Shoes

  • Students must wear fully enclosed sneakers, shoes or boots.
  • Open-toed shoes, flip-flops, athletic slides, sandals, or slippers may not be worn.

Accessories

Rubber bands and bandanas may not be worn or displayed at any time.

Headgear

As per PGCPS policy, “Headdresses can be worn for religious or health reasons ONLY.” No hoods, hats, scarves, headbands, bandannas, or skull caps are permitted.

Other

  • Students are expected to arrive at school in complete uniform daily.
  • Parents should communicate directly through e-mail, phone call, or written notification with grade level administrators regarding financial hardship, medical reasons, or any other uniform policy issues as soon as they arise.
  • Parents will be contacted to bring appropriate items to school as needed. Non-compliant items may be confiscated and may require parent to retrieve from administrator.
  • Repeated violations of uniform policy will result in consequences as outlined in Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook.
