Our students participate in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fairs each year at the school, county and state levels. The main STEM fairs are the Prince George’s Area Science Fair (PGASF) for grades 6-12 and the Kids For Science STEM Fair (KFS) for grades 3-5. Results from previous years are provided below.
The Prince George's Area Science Fair (PGASF) is held each year in the spring. Students from grades 6 - 12 participate. Use the archives below to view past winners for each category.
The 75th Annual Prince George’s Area Science Fair (PGASF) was held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Charles Herbert Flowers High School located at 10001 Ardwick Ardmore Rd, Springdale, MD 20774.
The fair theme was "Creating a Sustainable World Through STEMM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine". Over 400 student projects were judged from schools in three counties: Calvert, Saint Mary’s, and Prince George’s, including several Prince George’s County charter and private schools.
Several organizations presented special prizes and awards to our top winners in various categories. Two scholarships to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and three scholarships to Prince George's Community College were awarded. The high school grand award winners will had the opportunity to advance to the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, which will be held May 13-19, 2023, in Dallas, TX. These finalists will have the opportunity to compete for scholarships and prizes valued at over one million dollars.

The Science Department of Prince George's County Public Schools is steadfast about continuously promoting science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in new and innovative ways with our students. The 32nd Annual Kids for Science (KFS) STEM Fair for grades 3, 4 and 5 is one of the ways that our school system displays students’ engagement in STEM. Students projects were from elementary schools from across PGCPS.

The 31st Annual Kids for Science Virtual STEM Fair Awards Ceremony was held Saturday, May 21, 2022 on Zoom from 12:00 - 1:00 pm.
We had 109 students from across the school systems from grades 3 through 5 that participated in our second virtual STEM fair. Students submitted digital projects using Google Slides in the following 13 categories listed below.
Student winners were announced during the virtual awards ceremony that was held Saturday, May 15, 2021 on Zoom from 1:00 - 2:00 pm.
