Dear High School Parents and Students,
The University of Maryland Chapter of Latina Pathways invites you to our Antes y Después: High School Networking Night on Zoom on November 22nd, 2024, at 6:00 PM via Zoom (link will be provided to those who RSVP). We are looking for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors with an interest in pursuing higher education to join us in learning more about college from alumni and students alike!
Latina Pathways is a student-led non-profit organization that strives to advocate, educate, and fundraise to support all immigrants into higher education, with a special focus on Latines.. We recognize the gap between Latines and other immigrants, and education. Our goal is to provide equitable opportunities for marginalized groups to get a glimpse of higher education.
During this event, we will host an Alumni and Student Q&A session in which high school students will have the opportunity to submit their questions and have them answered by professionals and/or current college students. We will also host a one-to-one peer networking event so high school students and college students are paired together, based on career and/or educational interests of the high schoolers, to ask questions, seek advice, and seek community from the students at the University of Maryland.
This event has a limited capacity thus, we encourage students to sign-up soon to receive their spot in our networking night. Deadline to RSVP is November 20th at 11:59pm!
We are excited to present this opportunity to high school students and if you are interested in attending this networking event, please be ready for and complete the following:
- Have a parent and/or guardian fill out this online form so we can further organize the Q&A session and the one-on-one peer networking activity for students under 18 years old.
-If more than one student is participating in the event, parents and/or guardians fill out the form for each student.
-For students 18 years and older, please fill out the form and respond N/A for sections related to the parent/guardian information
